Who We Are
The Queen Charlotte Visitor Centre is operated by The Friends of the QC Visitor Centre (FVIC), a non profit society incorporated in 2003 by a group of local, long-time islanders who recognized the need to have the Visitor Centre and its services become an integral part of the "Islands" community of Haida Gwaii/Queen Charlotte Islands.

Our Vision
“The Friends of the QC Visitor Centre:
- Provides guidance and direction for the management of the Visitor centre.
- Sets policy and approves procedures for the organization.
- Networks and when possible partners with other like-minded organizations”.
It is our goal to provide accurate visitor information, services, and resources that enhance all tourism and tourism related businesses in the Islands communities of Haida Gwaii/Queen Charlotte Islands, to be knowledgeble of tourism and visitor services throughout British Columbia, to create a sense of ownership of the Queen Charlotte Visitor Centre facility in the Village of Queen Charlotte and the Islands on a year round basis.
The Friends of the QC Visitor Centre has worked hard to create a comfortable and welcoming experience for visitors and locals by partnering with community groups to blend exciting exhibits and shows with quality sales and service. FVIC through the Queen Charlotte Visitor Centre works to support local artisans and non-profit organizations particularly when it also benefits visitors.
The Friends of the QC Visitor Centre operates on a stakeholder model rather than a membership base. We support all tourist related business's operating on the islands. All tourism related businesses on Haida Gwaii/Queen Charlotte Islands are listed on our website at no charge. It is the responsibility of the business owner to make themselves known to us, and to alert us of any changes with their listings to ensure up to date and accurate information is always provided.
Our website policy is as follows:
1. No fee for basic listing of Island owned & operated business.
2. There is a "Fee for service" for email and website links to be determined on a yearly basis. Please inquire for our Racking Package if interested.
3. Fee must be paid in full before links are activated.
4. Linked websites must reflect current and accurate information on Haida Gwaii/Queen Charlotte Islands.
5. The Friends of the QC Visitor Centre reserves the right to remove linked sites after one email and one snail mail request has been made to request changes. This will be done in a timely and respectful manner.
