The Visitor Centre

The Queen Charlotte Visitor Centre is located in Queen Charlotte overlooking beautiful Bearskin Bay. The Centre is built in the style of a Haida two-beam, cedar longhouse. The centre houses many interactive displays featuring ocean and island life. Displays include a 3 dimensional scale map of the Islands, hand carved discovery boxes a learning experience for adults and children alike. Check out the 130 ft fabric frieze depicting the Islands through history, wildlife and Haida legend.
When visiting the islands drop in and let our knowledgeable staff help you with your plans. View videos in our screening area or relax and read from our extensive resource library of books, marine and topographic maps.
From the last week in June to the Labour Day weekend the Visitor Centre will host local artisans who will demonstrate and share their art. Check our Community Board and Connection Board for special events, interpretive programs and guided hikes and last minute opportunities to join trips.
